Channels roles overview

Take a deep dive into how different roles shape the channel experience.

In this article, we will delve into the role dynamics of the different channels, giving you a clear understanding of everyone's responsibilities.

Channel Roles 🌐

🛠️ The creator of a channel is automatically granted admin privileges, giving them full control over its settings and management.

👨‍💻 Users invited to a public channel are granted admin privileges if they hold an admin or super admin role within the platform. If they do not, they are assigned the role of member, which offers more limited management capabilities.

🔒 Members of a channel do not have the ability to modify the channel's settings; their access is restricted to viewing the settings only. In contrast, admins are authorized to alter the channel's settings to manage and customize the channel as needed.

🚀 If you are Super Admin on the platform but are a member of a specific channel, your Super Admin privileges on the platform will take precedence over your role within the channel. This grants you full access and management rights to all public channels, regardless of whether you are listed as a member or admin in that particular channel.

⚙️ To view the members or admins of a channel, you can navigate to the channel’s settings. Under the "Members" section, visible when you click on the channel’s name, you will be able to see the role assignments.
