Use case: Competitive monitoring in the aerospace industry

Discover best practices for competitive monitoring in the aerospace industry and achieve a competitive edge.

In this article, we’ll walk you through how to use the platform for competitive monitoring, using the aerospace sector as an example.

1. Create a channel for competitive monitoring 🛠️

To begin, create a dedicated channel for monitoring your competitors in the aerospace sector.

Example prompt:
“I want to track business intelligence on key players in the aerospace industry, including product launches, strategic partnerships, mergers & acquisitions, market expansions, and technology innovation.”

When setting up the channel, you can choose to

  • List your competitors by name (e.g., Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin),
  • Ask the AI to monitor “key players in aerospace”, if you want broader coverage.

👉 During channel creation, content curation is done in two steps:

  1. Query-based filtering: We only push articles that match the keywords in your query.
  2. Agentic AI review: Our generative AI agent double-checks the articles to make sure they truly match your channel description. The description should be sharp and specific, while the query can stay broader.

⏳ Please note: The AI agent needs around 15 minutes after channel creation to finish its review. Come back a bit later, and your channel will be ready to explore.

2. Share with your team 👥

Invite your colleagues to join the channel so they can also keep track of industry developments. This encourages collaboration and ensures everyone is aligned on market shifts.

3. Explore and filter relevant content 🔍

Once your channel is active, start exploring the articles.

You can also filter the content to narrow your focus:

🌎 By geography: For example, apply a filter like “Geography: United States” to only see what your competitors are doing in the U.S.

📌 By topic: Use filters such as “Product launch” to monitor only the new product announcements from competing firms.

This allows you to focus your intelligence efforts on what matters most to your strategy.

4. Save views for easy access ⭐

After applying filters, you can save the view by clicking the ⭐ icon.

Saved views appear in your Favorites, so you can quickly return to a pre-filtered feed (e.g., “New Products – Aerospace US Competitors”) each week to track recent moves and maintain a competitive edge.

5. Post insights 📢

If you identify something important, like a competitor’s new strategic move, you can create a post to share this insight with your team directly in the channel. This helps build a collective knowledge base.

6. Stay updated with a weekly digest 🗞️

When tracking competitors in the aerospace industry, it’s important to stay informed without getting overwhelmed. That’s where the weekly digest comes in. Every Monday, if at least five new articles have been published in your "Competition in Aerospace" channel, a summary post will appear directly in the channel.

You can also choose to receive this digest via email by selecting the option in the channel settings or by clicking on the channel title. This way, you and your team can quickly review key updates on your competitors, such as product launches or strategic moves, without needing to scan every article manually.

7. Ask AI for deeper insights 🤖

Use the Ask AI feature to dig deeper into the competition.
You can type a question in natural language, like:

“What recent partnerships has Lockheed Martin announced in the last 6 months?”

The AI will search across all the articles in your channels to give you a clear, concise answer, making it easy to extract insights without needing to go through every article.
